Treasures Can Be Found Where Least Expected

By: PRLog

The Gold Prospectors Association of America (GPAA) Gold and Treasure Show is making a long-anticipated stop at the Ohio State Fairgrounds, Lausche building May 14 and 15, 2022 to kick off the regional gold prospecting season. This is the nation's largest treasure-hunting trade show and an exciting place for family and friends to visit with dozens of leading manufacturers, local prospecting and metal detecting groups, and learn about prospecting equipment and treasure hunting techniques.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - April 9, 2022 - PRLog -- Most people are surprised when they learn that gold and gemstones are found in the Ohio Valley. Small bits of gold are scattered throughout the region, red garnets and even diamonds can be found if a person knows where and how to find them. For thousands of years, waterways have been flowing through gravels left by ancient glaciers, washing lighter rocks downstream leaving heavier minerals like gold to concentrate wherever the water speed changes due to obstacles like large rocks or bends. During our annual spring flooding, additional gold is introduced into streams from areas normally outside their banks where it is redistributed and concentrated in new locations. Prospectors "read" rivers and creeks to find these areas of concentrated heavier minerals. People across Ohio are finding natural treasures with tools as simple as a small shovel, a screen, and a gold pan.

As soon as the GPAA announced they wanted to have an Ohio stop as part of their show circuit, several GPAA chapters in the region joined with the Ohio Buckeye Chapter to begin enthusiastically working so visitors will have the opportunity to see how easy and fun gold prospecting can be for the entire family. With several worldwide manufacturers on hand, you can find the perfect tools to fill your treasure hunting needs but the show is about far more than selling equipment. There will be displays, demonstrations, and lectures by highly acclaimed prospectors, treasure hunters, and geologists. All attendees who purchase a very inexpensive collection tool called a "snuffer bottle" can learn from skilled panning instructors how to pan for and take home as much treasure as they can find from over $4,000 worth of gold in the "Panning Zone". The Buckeye Chapter's mascot "Bucky" will be on hand for pictures and guests can meet celebrities from treasure hunting television and radio shows. There are also raffles with several thousand dollars in major prizes being given away at the end of each day.

Showtimes are Saturday; May 14, 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM with the major prize raffle starting at 4:00 pm, and Sunday; May 15, 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM with the major prize raffle starting at 3:00 PM. General admission is only $10. Children under 12, veterans, and active-duty military are free. Tickets to the GPAA Gold and Treasure Show are available at http://www.buckeyegold.com. Use the code BELLVILLEGS at checkout for a 30% discount or call 1-800-551-9707 and the first 100 paid attendees each day will each receive a free vial of gold!
