Dr. Dexter Mattox, a dual degreed oral and maxillofacial surgeon, has joined the practice of Dr. Jeffrey O. Capes with offices in St. Simons Island and St. Marys, GA.
ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. - July 15, 2021 - PRLog -- Dr. Dexter Mattox has joined Dr. Jeff Capes' oral and maxillofacial surgery practice with offices in St. Simons Island and St Marys, GA.
"Dr. Mattox first shadowed in my office over ten years ago," Dr Capes said. "He followed in my footsteps by attending UGA for college and then moving on to the Dental College of Georgia in Augusta for dental school. He also followed my path by completing his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program and his M.D. degree at Case Western Reserve University.
"Dr. Mattox shares my commitment to patient-centered care," Dr. Capes said. "He is a person of outstanding character and ability who will continue our tradition of excellence in clinical procedures and customer service."
Dr. Mattox has strong local roots, as he grew up in St. Simons. "I am truly honored to come back home and join my mentor's practice. I'm excited to start the next chapter in my career and continue to provide patient-oriented, compassionate care to our community."
Dr. Capes explained his practice philosophy that Dr. Mattox fully shares. "It's not just about a procedure such as removing teeth or placing implants," Dr. Capes said. "It's about taking care of people. We change people's lives every day."
To keep patients comfortable during procedures, the doctors offer a variety of options, including intravenous sedation. "All of our patients are monitored very closely—just as they would be in a hospital setting," Dr. Capes said. "We are able to offer our patients a comfortable experience and the convenience of our modern, fully-equipped office."
With the addition of Dr. Mattox, there are now two oral surgeons and two offices to serve patients in southeast Georgia and northeast Florida. Both doctors are trained and licensed to practice dentistry and medicine, with a specialization in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Services include the placement of dental implants, removal of wisdom teeth, and treatment of TMJ disorders and traumatic injuries to the face, jaws, and teeth.
Dr. Capes explained that a referral is not required to make an appointment. "While we receive many referrals from excellent dentists in the area, a dentist referral is not necessary to be seen in our practice."
The doctors are accepting new patients and invite people to contact them through their website, capesoralsurgery.com, or by calling (912) 634-6600 for the St Simons office or (912) 439-3841 for the St. Marys location.
