Transmira, Inc., a Raleigh, North Carolina-based AR/VR technology company building the Metaverse, today announced the appointment of Ray Estep as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operations Officer.
Mr. Estep brings three decades of finance and operations leadership driving growth, financial rigor, and operational excellence for leading global brands. He will oversee all aspects of finance and operations for Transmira and its industry-leading metaverse platform, Omniscape™. Estep will report to Transmira founder, futurist and CEO Robert Rice.
Transmira is pioneering Experiential Reality (XR) technology on the BSV blockchain, spearheading development of the Metaverse, where the reality of the physical world meets the infinite space of the digital world. Transmira's groundbreaking Omniscape™ platform brings location to life, allowing businesses to engage with consumers by combining Augmented Reality (AR) with Virtual Reality (VR) in the exciting new XRTM environment.
"We are super excited to welcome Ray to the Transmira team," said Robert Rice, CEO of Transmira. "Ray's deep tech sector expertise and demonstrated experience growing companies in internet, media and mobile categories are a perfect fit for our passion, market position and anticipated growth as we scale and drive momentum."
Most recently, Estep was CFO for Ambipar Holdings USA, where he directed finance, planning and acquisitions across North America to drive growth. Previously, Estep held leadership positions with Private Equity-backed SaaS company ECi Software Solutions as global Vice President of Finance, where he led financial functions for reporting, planning, tax, bank relations, M&A activities, and systems across three continents supporting 14,000 customers. Before ECi, he held various executive leadership roles with Nokia and facilitated growth and exit of middle-market companies Softcard, which was acquired by Google, and a tech-enabled services business ACTLE, which is now owned by FedEx. Ray began his career in the Washington, D.C. area with PwC/Coopers Consulting in the Privatization and M&A unit and then went on to co-found digital media company CMC International, which was acquired by Sanctuary Entertainment Ltd.
The appointment comes during an active and ongoing funding round that to date has secured commitments from Ventek Ventures, Ayre Ventures, several family offices and a number of angel investors.
"I am thrilled to join the Transmira team as we embark on our mission to bridge the divide between the real and virtual worlds," said Ray Estep. "Transmira is perfectly positioned to lead the new virtual economy through the monetization of the Metaverse."
