As one of Australia’s largest events celebrating inclusion and accessibility, the festival brings people together through live music, entertainment, and interactive family activities.

Building on the success of previous festivals held on the Gold Coast, the 2025 event marks the first time the Festival of FUN will be hosted in Wollongong. With ambitions to become a national and international celebration, the festival continues founder David "Macca" McFarland's mission to create opportunities for people with disabilities to experience joy, community, and empowerment.
“The Festival of FUN is about making joy and connection accessible to everyone,” said a representative. “By bringing together live performances, inclusive activities, and a spirit of celebration, we’re fostering an environment where diversity is not just acknowledged but embraced.”
The 2025 Festival of FUN will feature a host of activities, including:
- Inclusive Entertainment: Attendees can enjoy live music, carnival rides, and interactive experiences designed to be accessible for people of all ability levels.
- Petting Zoo: A family-friendly activity where children and adults can interact with a variety of animals in a safe and welcoming environment.
- Sporting Competitions: Participants will have the opportunity to engage in accessible and inclusive games designed to showcase talent and encourage community spirit.
- Exhibition Hall: Event-goers can explore a dedicated space featuring resources, services, and useful information for people with disabilities and their caregivers. The exhibition will include representatives from support organizations alongside product demonstrations.
