Using Audio To Build A Brand: Social Media Marketing Trends Report Released

Professional voice-over marketplace Voices has published a report on the power of audio when building a brand.

In its new report, Voices looks at how upstart brands can use audio in their advertising to drive engagement, attract customers, and boost their revenues. The report also highlights which social media platforms see the highest levels of audio consumption and what kinds of audio content are the most popular on these channels.

As part of the report, Voices surveyed 1,000 Americans asking them questions regarding their audio consumption habits and preferences. In summation, their findings showed that audio has a significant impact on the audience’s perception of advertisements and brands as a whole.

“The audio elements of ads and social media content can be a game changer when it comes to creating content that is relatable, memorable, and unique,” explains a representative for the company. “Our research indicates that an effective audio strategy is crucial if you want your brand to be viewed as authentic and respectable.”

According to the survey, 67% of respondents find ads with audio in them more engaging and 73% find them more memorable. Additionally, 84% associate the audio in the ads with the brands themselves. Voices points out that for brands where this is the case, it is usually because their ads have a catchy slogan, jingle, or sound effect in them.

The platforms that see the most audio consumption are YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. This is largely down to the fact that a significant amount of the content on these platforms is video-dominant, and when users are watching videos, they rarely do so with the sound off. Bearing this in mind, Voices encourages brands to make sure high-quality audio is included in any content they post to these platforms.

The report also stresses the importance of keeping up with audio trends. Incorporating popular songs, viral audio challenges, and iconic sound bites can elevate content to a higher position in the audience’s consciousness.
