Growing up in the Philippines with a businessman and an educator as parents, Dr. Aquino's academic path was marked by excellence, earning him degrees in Biology, Nursing, and a Doctorate in Medicine and Surgery. As a healthcare professional, he believes in caring for the person within the patient and ensuring their well-being.
After working as a hospitalist, Dr. Aquino migrated to the United States and transitioned into an elevated role within the healthcare landscape. He expanded his focus beyond individual patient care to include central and pivotal administrative positions, imparting his expertise by training and enlightening fellow healthcare professionals.
Dr. Aquino's mindset disrupts the prevailing culture fixated on financial outcomes; he has become a thought leader in the industry, questioning established norms and delivering compelling keynote speeches at local, national, and global stages. On the TEDx stage, Dr. Aquino explores the idea of terminal thinking and skillfully untangles the knots of our self-imposed beliefs that hold us back. His speech inspires and motivates the audience to develop resilience and passion while pursuing their dreams.
However, Dr. Aquino's life was not without challenges. He experienced physical manifestations of stress, including heart attacks, anxiety, stomach ulcers, and haunting nightmares. Fortunately, he found enlightenment and inner peace through a transformative encounter with a mentor. This experience inspired him to write an internationally acclaimed guide titled "Life Should Be Simple and Easy: If You're Doing It Hard, You're Doing It Wrong," which offers a genuine alternative to living a fulfilling life.
Dr. Aquino's work culminated in the establishment of the Stress-Free Initiative, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a self-discovery process to assist individuals struggling with stress. The organization's mission is to eliminate the possibility of self-inflicted harm from every life, recognizing the inherent right of every individual to experience healing and happiness.
Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Aquino has received many awards and accolades and has been recognized worldwide for his accomplishments. This year, he will be considered for a feature in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine. He will be honored at IAOTP's annual awards gala at Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville this December for his selection as Top Mental Health Thought Leader of the Year.
