Artists around the world are exploring new ways to fuse physical art and digital ownership with the help of Bitcoin Ordinals, a cutting-edge NFT technology. Bitcoin Ordinals are unique digital tokens that represent a physical asset, created by attaching a unique QR code to an asset and recording ownership information on the blockchain. The Palehorse duo recently completed a 5.5ft. painting of the Hindu deity Ganesha, entitled ‘A New Beginning’, that is listed for $10,008. This piece is currently on display at a group exhibit called ‘SPACE’ in St. Petersburg, FL. Here’s the plot twist though, this artwork is inscribed to a Bitcoin Ordinal, and the only way to access the private key, which is hidden on the back of the piece, is by destroying the original painting. It's interesting seeing how professional artists are connecting their physical art with the digital world, and it’s really starting to push the boundaries of digital ownership.
Showing the relationship between Bitcoin and the elephant-headed deity, which is the inspiration for the painting, Krishna was quoted to say “The spirit of Ganesha is invoked to bless new beginnings in one’s life. In our current age, rapid change and ever-advancing technology is a constant, so it is highly beneficial to invite divine blessings regularly as we move through these phases.
