Range Energy Launches Dealer Advisory Council to Support Commercialization of Electric Powered Trailers

Council brings together top commercial fleet dealers, including Doggett Freightliner, North American Trailer, and Great Dane Atlantic to help inform Range’s go-to-market strategy

Range Energy (Range), the hardware company bringing powered trailers to the commercial trucking market, today announced the launch of its Dealer Advisory Council (Dealer Council), which brings together top commercial dealers across multiple OEMs, including Doggett Freightliner, North American Trailer, and Great Dane Atlantic, to accelerate Range’s commercialization objectives. The initial members of the Dealer Council all have extensive experience in trailer sales and bringing new technologies to the market. Each council member organization will enrich Range’s ability to effectively reach fleet customers.

“Establishing our Dealer Council is a major milestone for Range as we bring our electric trailers to the commercial trucking market. The Dealer Council underscores our commitment to not only accelerate the electric transition, but also our interest in creating efficient, focused customer feedback loops that these dealers can provide. This allows us to meet customers where they are with a deep sense of empathy,” said Ali Javidan, CEO and founder, Range Energy. “Fleet owners and operators rely on trusted dealers to help identify new technologies that make sense for their operations and help them overcome pain points, which is why our Dealer Council will drive adoption across those most ready to decarbonize their on-road operations.”

The Dealer Council represents an important group of stakeholders for Range as the company expands customer pilot operations this year and marches towards full-scale production. Like Range, dealers understand the pressure fleet owners and operators are under both in terms of meeting emissions reductions and ensuring they are making future-proof investments. Dealers are an integral part of the commercial trucking ecosystem and play a critical role in the adoption of emerging technology.

“Identifying and vetting new, promising technologies that can help customers is the most important role we serve as dealers in the commercial trucking industry. I’m looking forward to helping Range develop the pathway to getting their trailers into customer fleets,” said Paul Berk, Executive Vice President, Doggett Freightliner. “Range’s electric powered trailers make sense in that they are a technology for today that hooks up to any diesel-powered truck currently in-use, and will benefit the electric semi trucks of the future, delivering both improved fuel economy and increased safety. Those metrics are what our customers care about and I'm excited to be at the forefront of this innovation with Range.”

The establishment of Range’s Dealer Council follows several of the company’s major milestones in the last year, including completing third-party testing with MVTS showing its technology enables up to 36.9 percent fuel efficiency gains (+3.25 MPG) for semi trucks, the debut of its first powered 53' dry van, and becoming the first trailer electrification platform eligible for California’s Clear Off-Road Equipment (CORE) voucher incentive project.
