Publix Super Markets Charities (PSMC) is donating $11 million to support more than 225 organizations focused on providing housing and shelter services, including 130 Habitat for Humanity affiliates.
Since 2015, PSMC has donated more than $54 million to nonprofit organizations that build homes and provide emergency shelter and transitional housing.
“We’re pleased to continue our support of Habitat for Humanity affiliates and other nonprofits throughout Publix’s operating area,” said Publix Charities Executive Director John Doran. “These organizations help strengthen their communities and bring hope to individuals and families experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.”
“We’re thankful for Publix Super Markets Charities’ continued support of Habitat for Humanity affiliates throughout the Southeast,” said Hillsborough Habitat for Humanity CEO Tina Forcier. “Their continued generosity plays an important role in our ability to further our mission and provide housing for families.”

George Jenkins, founder of Publix Super Markets, believed in giving. From the day he opened his first Publix, he made sure his associates, customers and community were taken care of. In 1966, he established the foundation with the vision that it would continue giving long after he was gone. Publix Super Markets Charities remains committed to serving the communities in which Publix operates.
