Lifepoint Rehabilitation recognizes more than 35 facilities and units awarded on Newsweek’s America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2023

This week, Lifepoint Rehabilitation, a business unit of Lifepoint Health, recognized 19 of its freestanding inpatient rehabilitation facilities and 16 of its contracted acute rehabilitation units awarded by Newsweek in this year’s list of America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers. This prestigious award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. The awards list was announced on August 23, 2023, and can currently be viewed on Newsweek’s website.

The America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2023 list highlights top physical rehabilitation centers from all US states. The nation’s top in-patient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs) were identified based on the following data sources:

  • National Online Survey: Thousands of medical experts (physicians, therapists, medical doctors, administration & staff working in physical rehabilitation facilities) were invited to an online peer-to-peer survey.
  • Quality Score: Participants were also asked to rank the quality of care, quality of service, quality of follow-up care, and accommodations & amenities. Data published by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) was taken into consideration.
  • Accreditation: Data on physical rehabilitation centers provided by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center (MSKTC) were taken into consideration.

The 19 freestanding inpatient rehabilitation facilities are joint venture partnerships with regional health systems across the country. In each, Lifepoint Rehabilitation supports the day-to-day operations and delivery of rehabilitation care. The company also provides contract management support to acute rehabilitation units, operating more than 250 such units within hospitals and other therapy settings nationwide.

“Lifepoint Rehabilitation is proud to see so many of our freestanding inpatient rehabilitation facilities and acute rehabilitation units recognized on Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2023,” said Russ Bailey, president of Lifepoint Rehabilitation. “This is a tremendous accomplishment that evidences the industry-leading work of our rehabilitation providers across the country, and we know that this recognition evidences the patient-centered culture we have built in every facility and in every community we serve. It is always our goal to help each patient recover as fully as possible so that they may return to their lives and families, and we know that every patient encounter is critical to advancing our mission of making communities healthier.”

Lifepoint Rehabilitation also highlighted several of its freestanding inpatient rehabilitation facilities for ranking first in their states. These facilities include Baptist Memorial Rehabilitation Hospital in Tennessee, CHI Franciscan Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington, Community Health Rehabilitation Hospital North in Indiana, Lancaster Rehabilitation Hospital in Pennsylvania and Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital St. Louis in Missouri. Additionally, several of its inpatient rehabilitation facilities were ranked among the top 15 in the nation, including Lancaster Rehabilitation Hospital in Pennsylvania ranking seventh, Methodist Rehabilitation Hospital in Texas ranking ninth and Community Health Rehabilitation Hospital North in Indiana ranking twelfth.
