GoNetspeed and City of Easthampton Announce Partnership to Bring 100% Fiber Internet to Easthampton Residents and Businesses

GoNetspeed and the City of Easthampton today announced that residents and businesses throughout Easthampton will soon have the opportunity to experience fiber internet directly from their home or businesses. Through GoNetspeed’s fully funded $3.6 million investment, all Easthampton residents and businesses will have access to GoNetspeed’s fast, reliable internet and voice service.

Construction is expected to begin this fall with the first customers eligible for service installation as early as the start of 2024. Once completed, more than 9,000 homes and businesses will have the opportunity to experience GoNetspeed’s symmetrical fiber internet speeds, allowing customers to upload just as fast as they can download. Residents and businesses interested may visit gonetspeed.com to sign up for priority installation once service is available in their area.

“Easthampton is grateful for the investment that GoNetspeed is making in our community and our future. Through this partnership, we are able to ensure that internet connectivity is broadly available in a time when it is a necessity for our daily lives,” said Nicole LaChapelle, Mayor of the City of Easthampton. “We are pleased to soon have access to GoNetspeed’s reliable, affordable, and high-speed fiber internet.”

“In recent years, we have seen and experienced the increased need for broader access to more broadband options,” said Karin Moyano Camihort, Easthampton IT Director. “Residents throughout Easthampton deserve access to internet service that will provide an improved quality of life. Without choice and more competition, communities like ours will be left behind from a technological standpoint. We are thrilled to see the impact of GoNetspeed’s service as they prepare to provide our community with another choice and more provider competition.”

“Many communities throughout Central and Western Massachusetts do not have access to high-speed fiber internet, just like Easthampton. In order for communities to thrive, they must have access to more service options that will improve each individual’s online experience,” said Richard Clark, GoNetspeed President and CEO. “We look forward to ensuring that Easthampton and its residents are equipped with an infrastructure that will support their continued growth and economic development.”

GoNetspeed is working to ensure that more communities throughout Massachusetts will have access to a high-speed 100% fiber internet infrastructure. In the coming months, more communities throughout the state will join Easthampton in having access to GoNetspeed’s fiber internet.

With a legacy of innovation and a commitment to customer service, GoNetspeed is excited to accelerate the expansion of fiber networks throughout nine states, including Massachusetts. GoNetspeed continues to deliver more fiber, more access, more speed, and better reliability to residents and businesses throughout our footprint. With access to 100% fiber internet, customers have access to symmetrical upload and download speeds, ranging from 250 Mbps to 1 Gbps (1,000 Mbps). Learn more about GoNetspeed at gonetspeed.com.
