Equity Residential (NYSE: EQR), today announced that the Company was named the Gold Nareit 2021 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (“DEI”) award recipient. This award recognizes Equity Residential for having demonstrated a strong commitment to the advancement of diversity and inclusion both within the Company as well as in the REIT and publicly traded real estate industry.

Each year, winners of these awards are selected in a blind evaluation by a panel of judges active in DEI in organizations beyond the REIT industry. This year’s judges reviewed the companies and individuals based on their DEI programs, recent accomplishments, and reporting metrics.
