Established in 2016, Dynasty 11 develops companion apps for gamers across platforms and is hoping Player 2 will subvert one of the gaming community's greatest issues, bullying and other toxic behaviors. The company seeks to promote deeper connections between players. Dynasty 11 tries to accomplish this with an approach that works from the inside out. It hopes to cultivate an inclusive and life-balanced workplace culture, fighting against an insidious boys' club coupled with the crunch-time culture of the industry. "Creatively, we function as a think tank, where ideas are built upon and refined until they reach their optimal form," a representative of Dynasty 11 says.

Player 2: a Gamer's Companion App

Player 2 is a "Gamer's companion app," meant to be used while or in conjunction with gaming to enhance the experience. Particularly, Player 2 is about emphasizing the social aspect of gaming and helping players connect. The Compatibility Matchmaking feature allows gamers to connect with potential teammates with similar gaming interests and experience levels after they fill out a quick survey on their preferences. Player 2 also hosts Playgrounds, which provides a forum and chat platform to provide a public social space for gamers, developers, streamers, and media outlets alike. Other features on the app, such as LFG ("Looking for Group"), help users find teammates for immediate activities. Messaging is easy and secure to facilitate communication between friends on Player 2. Game Hub, a page where gamers can scroll through their favorite gaming content, acts as the homepage of Player 2. Player 2 also allows gamers to sync with their other gaming profiles to build their friends list, show off their gaming history and personality on their Player Card, increase their Player Level by completing milestones, and play built-in arcade games on the app.

Project Earns University Sponsorship After Winning Showcase

The project is supported in part by Drexel University, which acts as a Corporate Sponsor. Dynasty 11 recently won the institution's Senior Showcase, placing first with their submission of Player 2. "Following this school year's successful development of Player 2, the project culminated in the permanent hiring of three Drexel students to the Dynasty 11 Studios team," Dynasty 11 says. "Our partnership will continue to grow next school year, with Dynasty 11 Studios sponsoring several Drexel student teams. - Our commitment to building our business in Philadelphia - embodying the characteristics that make Philly business unique, and helping to put Philly on the map as a growing hub of Video Game/App Development."

Dynasty 11 Creative Director and CEO Colin Johnson is excited to unveil Player 2 to the public and show what the team can do. "As an entrepreneur, seeing Player 2 go to market will be immensely fulfilling," Johnson says. "As a business owner, success means providing a rewarding workplace for and empowering the lives of my employees." Johnson believes in collaboration and helping empower his team to do their best.

Moving Forward

Earning a university partnership has helped to ensure the app's development. However, Dynasty 11 is still accepting investment proposals from parties hoping to be part of their journey. Player 2 is currently in the alpha stage of testing, and Dynasty 11 has already generated a buzz surrounding the app. Testing is projected to reach the beta stage and go public by Q4 2022.

With a 14-person team and a new perspective, Dynasty 11 is hoping to help shape gaming culture and provide players with apps to allow them to have a full, realized experience while connecting with others across platforms.
