This is an announcement as per various news in the media.

With regards to some of Turkcell’s campaigns in some of its subscription packages that offer free minutes under certain conditions to its customers, the Telecommunications Authority fined Turkcell for the amount of TRY32 million (*app. US$26 million as of June 27, 2008).

Turkcell imposes the utmost importance on assuring customer satisfaction whilst offering the best products and services to its customers. Turkcell believes its actions are in full compliance with current regulations.

Turkcell will take the necessary legal steps against the claims and the fine it is exposed to.

*Based on Turkish Central Bank’s TRY/US$ exchange rate of TRY1.2095 for June 27, 2008.
