                             Appointment of Auditor

LONDON, UK, 21 August 2006 - SkyePharma PLC (LSE: SKP; NASDAQ:SKYE) announces
that Ernst & Young LLP has been selected as the Company's auditor. The new
auditor will be responsible for reviewing the Company's unaudited interim
results for the six months ended 30 June 2006, to be announced in late
September.
